It was less then a month ago that the Atlantic City Council and the Casino Association of New Jersey came to a compromise to avoid a total ban on Smoking in the City's casinos.
The deal was to partition off no more then 25 percent of each casino and with the addition of special Air filtration systems smokers could still smoke in these areas while playing.
But yesterday the State Senate approved a bill that once again will put a full ban on smoking in all of New Jersey's casinos.
The sponsor for this bill who is also the chairman for the Senate Health Committee decided to push this bill to stop the casinos from having to erect partitions and add expensive air filtration equipment that studies have proven does not effectively clean the air.
These types of air filtration systems still put the dealers, cocktail waitresses and cleaning staff at risk
He also said that forcing all the smokers into one little room will even make the situation worse then it currently is for those who have to work in it because it will be such a small enclosed area.
The bill passed the vote I the Senate health Committee Unanimously and is expect to pass the full Senates vote, and will make Atlantic City the largest gambling city to go non smoking.
