The Blue Chip Casino and Hotel in Michigan City is about to reopen. The boat that was constructed for two years will open its doors to the wide public on Tuesday morning. It will contain gambling tables, slots machines, restaurants and a non smoking area.
Five hundred construction workers worked on the casino boat for two years. Extra 100 employees were hired to operate 65,000 square foot boat.
According to Rob Stillwell of Boyd Gaming, the new boat has 500 more slot machines than it had before. In addition, the gaming area is concentrated in one floor unlike dividing it to three decks like the former boat. It is much more spacious environment, says Stillwell.
