Mayor Warr election campaign slogan Build a Better Gulfport became more predictive than he imagined. The mayor is busy encouraging city leaders and citizens to join him in the effort of building a better Gulfport, especially after hurricane Katrina.
Mayor Warr believes Gulfport has a potential to become known as a first class city. He says that this is the best time to develop the area retail establishments, restaurants, hotels and even casinos.
Warr wanted to make clear his position regarding gambling. He believes that casinos can contribute to Gulfport economics, but he opposed to building on shore casinos in the city.
Gulfport economics was damaged by hurricane Katrina. Mayor Warr believes the city economics will rebound thanks to a state fund and the successful retail business around I-10 and Highway 49.
