Lancaster Police Seized 19 Illegal Poker Machines.
Lancaster police raided six businesses for illegal gambling and alcohol selling.

Lancaster police raided six local businesses and seized 19 gambling machines. According to Lt. Paul Harrison of the sheriffs department, the State Law Enforcement Divisions Alcohol/Video Poker Enforcement Department received a complaint about illegal gambling and alcohol selling.

Harrison said prosecutions would be filed only against the businesses that have alcohol licenses. SLED plan to file charges against the owners of Old Mill Grocery, Riverside Express and Riverside Grocery for illegal alcohol selling. The other three businesses will be prosecuted in general sessions court.

The businesses owners might face a year in prison, and between 500 dollars and 2,000 dollars fine for playing or possessing the gambling machines. According to South Carolina gambling law, the GT2000 gaming machines are considered as type of video poker machines, which is illegal since 2000.
