Pre-Katrina employers will get their jobs back

George P. Corchis, Jr. President and Chief Operating Officer of Beau Rivage Resort said: "Immediately following Hurricane Katrina’s devastation, our parent company MGM MIRAGE made a commitment to our employees, their families and the entire Gulf Coast community to rebuild Beau Rivage and rebuild it quickly". It seems that the process of construction is over and the president keeps its word. About 1.400 employees have been working in construction-related jobs at Beau Rivage and another 300-400 already are on the job as part of the pre-opening team. However, Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi expects more than half of the employees, who worked there before Hurricane Katrina to reclaim their jobs.

A total of 3.400 employees are needed to staff the casino resort set to open on August 29, the anniversary of Katrina. A list of job openings is available at Workatbeau.com. Among the available positions are accounts, payable cashier, copywriter, designer, mechanic, poker room chip runner, room reservations sales agent, security officer, slot host coordinator and systems engineer. New Beau Rivage will completely answer the expectations of the owners as well as the players. Also expected to reopen this year are the former Grand Casino Gulfport, Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis and the former Grand Casino, Boomtown and Treasure Bay, all in Biloxi. The reopening of those five casinos and the Beau Rivage would put 6.500 casino employees back at work on the Gulf Coast.
