Student of the University of Waterloo Wins the 3rd PokerStars Caribbean Advanture and takes 1.3 mill

PokerStars online website has become famous in the global poker world when two of its players, Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer, provoked a sensation in the professional poker scene, winning 2004 and 2005 World Series of Poker, the most prestigious real life poker tournament. Before it happened, online poker was considered as a place for amateurs, but PokerStars make the world change its mind. But besides that, PokerStar is also famous for its annual poker tournaments called the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

This year, the Third Annual Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure has brought a couple of new surprises. The winner of the main event, once again, is not one of poker heavyweights, but a player who might have been considered as an average online player without any experience in the professional field. The guy%u2019s name is Steve Paul-Ambrose, a student of the University Waterloo in Canada. After beating a large field of 700 players with many professionals among them, Steve Paul-Ambrose gained the title and took home 1.3 million US dollars and a seat at the World Poker Tour final worth 25 thousand dollars.

The entry to the Third Annual Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure cost 8 thousand dollars, but Steve did not pay it. He and his room-mate both won a seat at an online super-satellite tournament held at PokerStars.com that cost only 102 dollars to join.

Although Steve Paul-Ambrose does not have any experience in the professional poker field, he played for about two years online and worked on his skills with his room-mate. The fact that Steve won such a prestigious tournament, which made him a millionaire, proves another time that the online poker experience is not worse, if not to say better than the real-life one.
